A peek at a collection of porcelain dolls made in collaboration with Alber Elbaz and Lanvin. They say: “While Elbaz has revitalized the fashion house, he, like Lanvin, still appreciates tradition. Part of that tradition includes a strong affection for dolls.” While I'm pretty sure that Lanvin's history with these type of dolls is little-known, but the dresses are easily recognizable, but it's easy to tell something big was lost in translation. Namely, the beautiful and extravagant fabrics. Only 800 of each of the dolls will be made, and they'll retail for $210-375, although I have no clue who would pay that for a doll, other than doll collectors, who would never understand the Lanvin aspect of it.
