The divide between the US and Europe, in terms of fashion, is completely (and pitifully) obvious here: Harper's Bazaar UK chose wisely when they picked Natalia Vodianova, looking beautiful among wheat while the US Harper's features and actress. Cudos to them, of course, for picking Leighton Meester, as she and her TV alter-ego Blair Waldorf are both largely viewed as a style icons, but the bright, bold and somewhat obnoxious print on the cover definitely brings it down- she's glowing, but that doesn't mean everything else should be as well. At ELLE UK, they picked Lindsay Lohan, who might be on the verge of making a comeback. ELLE stateside, though, went with the obvious choice of Jennifer Aniston, who's always a sellout on the newsstands, mainly because you fell a little sorry for anyone who was dumped by Brad Pitt, and partly because she has a new romantic comedy coming out every few weeks. We're still waiting to actually see Charlize Theron on Vogue, after her move to the September issue after gracing the October issue twice before.
